improve formatting on notification emails
right now there's not a lot of white space and the stripped down formatting looks kind of messy. it would be nice to format them a bit nicer.

Having to be quick on assignments, if there were tangles in formatting on notification of emails, I just quit. I have enough head work to do as co-editor, co-publisher, journalist and photographer. Did not need another riddle.

I've also seen weird formatting of links in rich text / html emails. I would prefer if all email was sent out as plaintext.
